Reclaim Your Routine: A Women's Health Month Guide

May is Women's Health Month, and we're celebrating with the ultimate empowering checklist to transform your routine, feel your best, and set you up for the happiest and healthiest summer ever!

Complete this checklist (and make them part of your everyday routine) to take control of your physical & mental health with self love in mind.

🩺 Regular Checkups:

  • Book your annual physical with your primary care provider

  • Schedule a gynecologist visit (Annual Pap smears, pelvic exams, and breast checks save lives!!)

  • Talk to your doctor about birth control or hormone health if you have questions or concerns (trust your doctor over an influencer's sponsored post any day)

🩸 Period & Hormone Care:

  • Check in with your cycle tracking method - Do you use an app? Write in a journal? Are you consistent with it or could it be time to try something new?

  • Check in with your body & notice the phases of your cycle this month. Do you notice any changes month to month? This is a great opportunity to listen to your body's needs.

💊 Birth Control & Backups:

  • Make sure your birth control prescription (if you have one) is up to date - this is a great thing to talk about with your doctor at your appointment!

🥗 Energize Your Everyday:

  • Prioritize iron, calcium, and magnesium-rich foods

  • Eat enough protein to support your hormones + energy

  • Take your vitamins (especially D, B12, and Omega-3s)

  • Focus on eating foods that make your body feel good, full of energy, and nourished throughout the day (we've left calorie tracking in the past!!)

🏃 Move Your Body:

  • Aim for 30 mins of movement most days in whatever way feels best for you! Walk, dance, lift, run, take that hot pilates class - we're getting strong and helping those endorphins flow this summer!!

  • Add strength training to your exercise routine to support bone + heart health

😴 Rest is Productive:

  • Get 7–9 hours of sleep a night

  • Prioritize winding down before bed - no doom scrolling until 1AM please!!

💧 Hydration & Skin Love:

  • Drink plenty of water (before coffee in the morning!!)

  • Keep your skincare simple + consistent. This is a great time to schedule an appointment with a dermatologist to address any concerns and get a personalized skincare plan.

  • Wear SPF daily (even when it’s cloudy, trust!!)

🧠 Mental Health is Health:

  • Journal, meditate, or talk to someone you trust. Listen to your brain when it tells you that you need a break or a change.

  • Unfollow people who make you feel bad online - from influencers selling you a fake lifestyle, to that person from high school who brings up bad memories, you don't need to keep anyone on your feed who isn't serving your mental health in a positive way!!
