insertion removal cleaning pro tips
The Viv Disc is made of 100% medical-grade silicone, which means it doesn't contain any harmful chemicals or toxins.
You can reuse your disc over and over every month for years, meaning no more tampons or pads, and no more waste!
- wash your hands and your disc
- pinch the disc lengthwise to form an "8" shape
- choose a position: sitting on the toilet, squatting, or standing with one leg up
- insert the disc into your vagina, angled back towards your tailbone, with the opening of the disc facing up and the pull tab at the bottom
- use your thumb or finger to tuck the rim of the disc behind your pubic bone
Inserting your disc will be no big deal soon, but it's okay if it doesn't go perfectly the first (or second) time! Take a deep breath and relax your muscles.
- wash your hands
- use a finger to find the pull tab on your viv disc
- gently untuck the disc from behind your pubic bone
- use the pull tab to guide the disc out of your body
- dump out your disc, rinse it with your Viv Disc Wash, and reinsert!
The pull tab on the Viv Disc is designed to make removal easy. Just pull on the tab and slide it out of your body! Always make sure you're over a toilet or in the shower while removing your disc, so everything will empty down the drain!
The Viv Disc Gel Wash is designed to keep your disc clean with 100% plant-based, toxin-free ingredients.
Before using your disc for the first time, and in between each period, boil your disc to completely sterilize it.
It's okay if your first disc experience doesn't go exactly as planned! Be gentle with yourself, and know that there's a learning time period for everyone trying a new period product for the first time.
Your Viv Disc holds as much as 4 tampons, so it will last at least as long as changing your tampon or pad 4 times.
Our bodies are all unique, and no two periods are the same. What works for someone else might not work the same way for you! Use the disc for the first time on a day when you can stay home or close to a bathroom, so you can learn how the disc works for you!
